The Freedom 17 is a modern efficient tripping canoe, beautifully built using cedar strip construction. It's a 17 foot boat, weighing 57 lbs.

The asymmetrical hull has a slim bow with the maximum beam just aft of the middle and a filled out stern section, resulting in reduced resistance and plenty of room for gear. This is a very fast boat: the slim entry lines allow it to track straight with little correction necessary from the stern paddler. However, the gently rockered profile lets the boat turn with ease. All in all, this fast, responsive canoe is a pleasure to paddle.
