Friday, September 29, 2006: Something very strange happened today in English class. In summary, the teacher began telling the class about a contest, the classroom rumbled with speech for a few moments, and after hearing students at various points throughout the room mention my name I find out that in less than two months there's a good chance I'll be reciting two Shakespearean sonnets and a soliloquy in front of judges at UofT, representing Woburn. Needless to say, this has come as a bit of a shock, but I guess my English class has just volunteered me for the task.... Anyways, it's a chance for me to earn some confidence and cash, so I suppose it's a good idea... >_>; I'm just not sure how my flakey memory and unpredictable nerves will deal with the situation. I guess I'll have to just work on it, wait, and see. My life has been taking some interesting turns lately.
Wednesday, September 27, 2006: Ah. Today wasn't so bad. Got to play with photoshop in Digital Photography, formed this year's group in Media Arts (a very interesting assortment of folks), and got some new assignments in Visual Arts and English, which look rather exciting. Along with all that class-type-stuff came bundled a strangely productive lunch period which resulted in finding myself joining three clubs in one day. First off, I found out that the GSA folks gather every monday at lunch and eat doughnuts. I both sympathize with their cause, and enjoy the odd doughnut, so that wasn't a terribly difficult choice to make. Secondly, the Art Club meets every tuesday after school and allows everyone to doodle in harmony... do I really have anything better to do? :-P Last but not least I found myself applying to help out with the Woburn Fishwrapper, which is of course our school newspaper. So... aye, I'll have a fair amount of extra-curricular-osity going on for the first time this year, which should be good.
Tuesday, September 26, 2006: Ugh. Today didn't go so well. I wasn't prepared for the format of the audition, didn't snap up the good lines, and stumbled my way through it. I don't expect to make the cut. Ah well, such is life. At least I didn't feel crushingly useless in my actual Drama class today. Eh. I'll just have to make up for my lack of preparedness in the auditions by putting together some great Media Arts films this year. Well, I'm out of suitable blog material for now. Perhaps I'll refuel tomorrow. As a closing message for today, I'd like you all to know that what I write in this blog is far less valuable than what I say to you individually. What I write here is generally tweaked so that it none of it is information that I wouldn't tell anyone reading in casual conversation. It's not raw, it's not uncensored, and it doesn't say all I wish it could.
Saturday, September 23, 2006: This entry marks the end, however temporary, of a long period of laziness and busitude akin to those predicted in my first entry here. You see, school seems to busify large slots of time, and in turn, other periods of time are lazified to maintain the crucial equilibrium in my often energy-defficient life. In any case, classes are enjoyable this year. Shakespeare's work absorbs me in English, old Russian filmmaking fascinates me in media arts, I grow frustrated by my rusty skills in Visual Arts, Digital Photography is nice, but it hasn't given me much freedom yet, and Drama tests me every session, and lets me test myself. I'm also attending the second round of auditions for the fall production on Tuesday, and will keep you folks informed as to what happens with that. For now though, I can only return to my haze, and make sure I'm able to lift my head from my pillow come Monday.
Sunday, August 13, 2006: Well, this morning... I was asleep. Honestly, I don't remember most of what I did this day... Pulled out my watercolours to do some painting, but the results were far from impressive, and the canvas I was working on didn't really allow for any detail. Ah well, tomorrow is another day... and I should probably start preparing for the Dungeons and Dragons game I have to DM this coming Friday. Hopefully I can turn that into a fun time all around. :-)
Saturday, August 12, 2006: Today has been... interesting. There was a security breach involving a jar of pickles... they overpowered me, shattered their glass cage, and escaped to freedom. The herd leaders were disappointed, I'm sure. Today was also my Father's birthday, and also my uncle's birthday, coincidentally enough. The celebrations involved steak, and a lengthy walk along the beach. Today, my website received yet another update: the skoodle page. Don't worry Webhost James, the bandwidth is being provided by the kind folks at photobucket.com. :-D (Warning: The Skoodle page contains disturbing images generated while under the influence of school.) Today I've also added this brand-spankin'-new blog entry. Today, we're using a "Today" motif, or formatting style. Don't worry, it won't happen again any time soon. :-D

11, 2006: Today had been a day of long delayed progress. My Elfwood gallery has been updated with less ancient work, my new website has been partially completed... I've even started this little blog here to keep you folks (whoever you are), up-to-date on things in my life. Unfortunately, these things tend to fall apart pretty quickly, so you can half-expect my site and blog to be left update-less for long periods of laziness. Who knows though? This new method of updating (Thanks James!) makes it pretty easy for me to stick things on the server... We'll just have to wait and see I guess. :-P Oh, and as you wait for updates I've got these eyes in the background to make you nervous. Enjoy! |
